Aizawl South – II Assembly Election Result 2023: Lalchhuanthanga of the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) emerged victorious in the Aizawl South – II assembly constituency of Mizoram, securing a win against opponents Dr. Lalmalsawma Nghaka of the Indian National Congress and Denghmingthanga of the Mizo National Front.
The voting for all 40 seats in the Mizoram State Legislative Assembly was conducted on November 7, 2023, and the official results were declared on December 4.

Lalchhuanthanga from the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) claimed victory with 9,117 votes. Dr. Lalmalsawma Nghaka of the Indian National Congress secured 7,478 votes, while Denghmingthanga of the Mizo National Front received 5,352 votes.
In the most recent 2018 elections, Aizawl South II witnessed the active participation of 24,613 electors in the democratic process. The constituency experienced a closely contested battle, ultimately resulting in the triumph of independent candidate Lalchhuanthanga. He secured a total of 7,294 votes, narrowly defeating Mizo National Front candidate Denghmingthanga, who garnered 7,115 votes, with a slim margin of 179 votes.

The estimated literacy level of the district in which this constituency is situated is 97.89%, according to the Census of India, 2011.
In the 2023 Mizoram Assembly elections, the constituency had a total of 27,765 eligible electors, including 12,856 males and 14,909 females, with registered voters of the third gender.
