Rajasthan election results: BJP ahead of Congress in latest trends | India News

NEW DELHI: The BJP is ahead of the Congressin Rajasthan. According to the latest trends from counting in the state, the saffron party is leading in over 100 seats out of the 200 assembly seats in the state. The Congress is leading in around 80 seats. The Bharat Adivasi Party and independents were ahead in five seats each while the BSP and CPIM in two each.The RLD, and Aazad Samaj Party were ahead in one seat each, according to the EC.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief CP Joshi said, “The public will bless the BJP with a complete majority. Misgovernance and injustice will lose; Good governance and justice will prevail.”
As the trends poured in, BJP candidate from Kota north Prahlad Gunjal said that the BJP is going to form the government. “Rajasthan has given the mandate and the picture will become clear in sometime,” he said. When asked who will be the CM, he said, “This will be decided by the party high command. We have big leaders like Vasundhara Raje and we need not bring from outside.” Gunjal is contesting against parliamentary affairs minister Shanti Dhariwal.
Chief minister Ashok Gehlot had led a very aggressive campaign for a second consecutive term in the state. He is leading from Sardarpura constituency.
Former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot facing off against BJP leader Ajit Singh Mehta from Tonk constituency. Pilot had beaten BJP’s Yoonus Khan by a margin of 54,179 votes to secure the seat in 2018. Former chief minister Vasundhara Raje is leading from Jhalrapatan.
