Peter Cook and Alba Jancou said “I do” four years after getting engaged.

The 64-year-old architect, who was once married to model Christie Brinkley, and the 24-year-old real estate agent confirmed that they got married in Capri, Italy and spilled some details about what they described as their “over-the-top elopement” to People.

The pair told the outlet that they initially planned for a 2020 wedding in Turks and Caicos. However, things didn’t go according to plan due to the pandemic. As a result, they kept things small this time around.

Only six guests attended the nuptials.

Why Italy? “We both absolutely love Italy; it is our favorite country. We have traveled all over Italy together and the one place that really stood out to us was Capri,” Alba explained. “We loved everything from the views, the food and the culture. It is so romantic and visually stunning.”

If you forgot, the couple’s 40-year age gap generated headlines at the time of their engagement.

Peter hinted at the age gap while speaking to the outlet. “Alba is a protective and passionate partner,” he said. “She puts others above herself in all situations. She has lived a lot in her 24 years and has a maturity and worldliness that belies her age. I most love living the simplest moments with her, each and every day she makes the mundane manageable and tolerable by her presence.”

Alba also stressed how important Peter was to her.

“He has (for 5+ years) and continues to make me feel like the most beautiful and special girl in the world,” she said. “He has also been my biggest supporter and has made me believe in myself in ways I could never have imagined. The thing I love about him the most is his heart and how kind it is. The thing I admire the most about him is ability to light up every room he walks into.”
