Neetu Kapoor opens up about Rishi Kapoor’s final days in New York: “I had the best year”

Veteran icons Zeenat Aman and Neetu Kapoor brought their unique charm to the eighth season of Karan Johar’s talk show. In a recent segment, Neetu Kapoor shared intimate details about her late husband Rishi Kapoor’s final days while undergoing cancer treatment in New York.

When questioned about the difficult period, Neetu chose to focus on the positive aspects of their time in the city. She emphasised her preference for remembering the joyous moments rather than dwelling on the sadness. Neetu shared that despite the hardships, the year in New York was the best of her life, filled with transformative experiences.

Neetu disclosed how Rishi Kapoor underwent a significant change during that year. Contrary to his usual reserved nature, especially with his emotions, Rishi became remarkably affectionate and open. This transformation created enduring memories for the family, showcasing a different facet of the legendary actor’s personality.

Despite the challenging moments of chemotherapy, there were also days of joy filled with parties, lunches, movies, and shopping when Rishi was in good health. Despite the hardships, the Kapoor family experienced some of the most memorable moments of their lives. 

During the promotion of his film Animal, Ranbir also reflected on his relationship with his late father. Expressing regret for not spending enough casual time with Rishi Kapoor, the actor shared a sentiment commonly felt by those who lose a parent.
