NEW DELHI: The CBI informed a Rouse Avenue court on Wednesday that it will take a month to procure prosecution sanction against former railway minister Lalu Prasad and certain railway officials in connection with the fresh chargesheet filed in the land-for-jobs matter.
The court of special judge Geetanjali Goel deferred arguments on the point of cognisance for August 8.
“It is stated that sanction has still not been received in respect of accused Lalu Prasad Yadav (A-1), Maheep Kapur (A8), Manoj Pande (A-9) and Dr P L Bankar (A-10) and is awaited. Put up for same on August 8, 2023,” the Rouse Avenue court order read.
On July 3, the CBI has filed a chargesheet in an alleged land-for-jobs scam case allegedly involving the former railway minister and Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav.
It was the second chargesheet filed by the CBI in the case but the first one in which Tejashwi Yadav has been named as an accused.
