Man crushes puppy to death underfoot in MP; CM Shivraj and Scindia react strongly | India News

BHOPAL: A man hurled a puppy to the ground before ruthlessly crushing it to death in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh. The act prompted a strong reaction from Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The incident surfaced on Saturday, December 9, when a video circulated widely across social media platforms, revealed the cruelty. The footage captured an individual hurling a puppy to the ground before crushing it underfoot.
Outrage flooded various social media groups in the city demanding severe repercussions for the perpetrator.Person identified as Mrityunjay Jadaun, a resident of Radhapur Colony in Guna was arrested after the chief minister and union minister intervened, say locals.

Reportedly, the accused was seated outside a shop and was approached by two puppies while he was consuming food. Without provocation, he threw one of the puppies to the ground before violently crushing it under his feet. It was later found that the accused suffers from mental health issues.
The entire incident was captured by a CCTV camera installed at the scene, clearly depicting the act. Witnesses from the colony attested to the mental instability of the accused.
Expressing deep concern over the incident, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia took to social media, describing the act as “frightening and disturbing.” “This is horrifying and disturbing. There is no doubt that the man should be penalised for this barbarism” Scindia wrote in his message tagged to Chief minister Chouhan.

Responding to the call for action, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan denounced the act, declaring unequivocal condemnation of such brutality. “Deeply disturbed by the horrifying incident. Swift and strict action will be taken to ensure justice is served. We unequivocally condemn such acts of barbarism, and the individual responsible will face the consequences,” Chouhan responded to Scindia.

Jadaun was arrested by the police under various sections. SP Guna took it to social media to inform that the person concerned has been arrested under sections for cruelty against animals.
