NEW DELHI: North India continues to be in the grip of cold wave and fog conditions, and the situation will remain the same for the next few days in most part including Ayodhya when the consecration ceremony at Ram temple will take place on January 22.
Prediction of sunny day for the holy city may bring some relief. So, the situation in Ayodhya is expected to be slightly better than most parts of north-west India including Delhi-NCR, Punjab and Haryana.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) – the country’s national weather forecaster – has predicted that minimum (night) temperatures may be around 6-8 degrees Celsius whereas the maximum (day) temperature is expected to be around 15-17 degrees Celsius in Ayodhya on January 22.
The IMD’s latest nowcast forecast (issued at 10 am on Thursday) on its dedicated page for Ayodhya shows the maximum temperature may go up to 22.2 degree C and the minimum up to 10.6 degree C on January 22 — it means the possibility of slightly improved situation in the holy city.
According to the Met department, the overall weather is likely to be “dry and shallow to moderate fog (200-800m visibility)” in the morning. The sky will be mainly clear later – it means there is no possibility of rains on the day of the consecration ceremony at Ram temple on January 22.
