Zuckerberg: Mark Zuckerberg suffers ACL tear ahead of scheduled MMA debut

[ad_1]

Mark Zuckerberg’s aspirations for a future in MMA were shattered following a gruesome injury sustained during a sparring session.
The owner of Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and WhatsApp, tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) while preparing for a competitive MMA bout scheduled for early next year. Zuckerberg’s injury typically requires six to 12 months for recovery, leading to an indefinite delay in his fight, as Daily Star reported.
Sharing a photo on Instagram from his hospital bed with his heavily strapped leg elevated by a hospital device, he confirmed his commitment to the recovery process, stating, “Tore my ACL sparring and just got out of surgery to replace it.”
“Grateful for the doctors and team taking care of me. I was training for a competitive MMA fight early next year, but now that’s delayed a bit. Still looking forward to doing it after I recover – thanks to everyone for the love and support.”
In a series of four photos, one of which depicted his wife Priscilla Chan tending to him while he lay in bed in discomfort, Zuckerberg shared his update. The post garnered over 600k likes in under 24 hours and was flooded with expressions of “love and support.” It also received thousands of spam comments related to “free Palestine.”
MMA legend Jon “Bones” Jones offered his encouragement with the words, “We got this.” Meanwhile, content creator Nina Drama, boasting over 1.6 million Instagram followers, expressed sympathy, saying, “So sorry to hear that Mark! Wishing you a speedy recovery.”
Zuckerberg has not provided a timeline for his recovery, but experts suggest that the injury, typically seen in professional footballers, could necessitate a full year for recuperation. He did not specify the cause of the injury or reveal the identity of his intended opponent for the canceled fight, as reported by Daily Star.
