Wankhede: Junk MHA prior prosecution nod: Wankhede | India News

MUMBAI: Challenging the prior prosecution sanction against him granted by the ministry of home affairs (MHA) in Bombay HC Thursday, former zonal director of Narcotics Control Bureau Sameer Wankhede sought that it be set aside and said the ministry of finance would be the appropriate authority as he is an Indian Revenue Service officer, reports Swati Deshpande.
Wankhede filed an amendment plea to add new grounds in his quashing petition against the extortion-corruption case filed by CBI linked to the Cordelia cruise drug bust.
Wankhede said the prior sanction issued by MHA is “bad in law” and should be set aside as it lacked jurisdiction. He said he was receiving salary from the finance ministry and hence the prior prosecution nod must be taken from it.
