Sunny Deol on reuniting with Shah Rukh Khan at the Gadar 2 success bash

In 2023, Bollywood saw a remarkable resurgence for Sunny Deol with the success of Gadar 2. It also marked a reconciliation between Deol and Shah Rukh Khan. The two made an appearance at the celebration of Gadar 2’s success. In a recent interview with a leading portal, Sunny reflected on his renewed bond with SRK and the overwhelming support from fellow actors at the success party.

Regarding the widely circulated image of him embracing Shah Rukh Khan and their resolution of past differences, Sunny shared that everyone is secure and has moved on. He also said that everyone is aware of where they went wrong and what they got right. “Time is a healer. It’s best to leave it there. I was so happy that everyone turned up at my party,” he added. 

The conflict between Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan originated during the filming of the 1993 movie Darr. Sunny had expressed dissatisfaction with the portrayal of his protagonist character compared to the glorification of SRK’s antagonist role. Despite conveying his concerns to director Yash Chopra, the portrayal remained unchanged. After the film’s release, Sunny refrained from communicating with SRK for 16 years until their reconciliation during the success celebration of Gadar 2.

Sunny, known for avoiding social gatherings, expressed gratitude for the numerous stars who attended the Gadar 2 success bash. Reflecting on a moment with Salman Khan, Sunny shared, “I remember whispering into Salman’s ear, ‘Tu merko bulata tha apni parties mein, main nahi aata tha, tu mere yahaan aa hi gaya.’ He used to invite me to all his parties. Everyone knows I am not a party person.”
