BHOPAL: The state BJP has sent out invitations to its newly elected MLAs for the party’s legislative party meeting on Monday even as the office of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan amped up the political atmosphere by tweeting, “Sabhi ko Ram Ram”.
‘Ram Ram’ is used both as a greeting and to bid farewell. State BJP president V D Sharma – whose name is among the CM hopefuls – said Chouhan’s message was about the Ram temple. The suspense on the CM’s name continues but there is a strong indication thatMadhya Pradesh may get a deputy CM this time.
Asked who would be the next CM, Sharma said, “We are a cadre-based organisation and it is always the leadership that take the right and impartial decisions. Who will be CM, who will be deputy CM? That will be decided by the party leadership at the right time and after reviewing the present situation.”
The legislative party meeting on Monday has been brought forward by three hours. The three observers — Haryana CM Manoharlal Khattar, BJP national OBC Morcha president K Laxman and party national secretary Asha Lakra — are expected to reach Bhopal on Monday morning.
“The observers will reach here around 11am. The legislative party meeting will be held at 4 pm,” Sharma said.
BJP has been given an overwhelming majority by the people of Madhya Pradesh, he said. “Under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership, the priority has been to run schemes for the welfare of the poor. Along with this, people of the state want that the speed of development should not be hindered. Therefore, they want to elect Narendra Modi for a third-term as Prime Minister,” he said, adding: “Whatever is good for Madhya Pradesh will be decided by the party leadership.”
