Sena: After symbol, Sena (UBT) loses blue tick | India News

[ad_1]

The Shiv Sena (UBT) lost the blue tick on Twitter when it changed its handle from @ShivSena to@ShivSenaUBT_. Interestingly, the Shiv Sena’s Wikipedia pages also showed the post of party president as vacant and MP Rahul Shewale as party’s leader in the Lok Sabha.
The Wikipedia pages reflect strength of Shinde faction MPs and MLAs which is now the real Sena as per the Election Commission order, reports Chaitanya Marpakwar. The handle @ShivsenaComms which was the party’s media handle has also lost its verified blue tick and that handle has now been named as @ShivsenaUBTComm. On Wikipedia, Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray is referred to as the ‘erstwhile leader forming Shiv Sena (UBT)’. While the party is still using the name Shiv Sena on its Facebook page, its official website ShivSena.org wasn’t working since Saturday.
Sena (UBT) functionaries said the website was undergoing changes. On Friday, soon after the EC’s decision, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde updated his display picture on Twitter with Shiv Sena’s ‘bow and arrow’ symbol.
