NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday offered soil into the Amrit Kalash at Kartavya Path during an event marking the culmination of the ‘Maati Mera Desh’ campaign.
PM Modi while addressing the event said that ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign is a direct example of how the youth of India can unite and achieve every goal.
“Dandi Yatra brought people together, similarly Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav made new history with scale of people’s participation, “PM Modi said.
PM Modi while speaking on the reason behind offering soil into Amrit Kalash said that many great civilizations have ended but there is a consciousness in the soil of India which has saved this nation from ancient times till today.
The sacred soil will serve as a wellspring of motivation, propelling us to redouble our efforts toward realising our vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’, he added.
PM Modi launched the Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) platform for youths and virtually laid the foundation stone of ‘Amrit Mahotsav Memorial and Amrit Vatika’.
“The memorial will remind the next generation of today’s historic event,” PM Modi said.
Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign is a tribute to the soldiers who made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
In the spirit of people participation (Jan Bhagidari), the campaign comprises many activities and ceremonies conducted across the country at panchayat, village, block, urban local body, state and national levels.
The event signifies the culmination of the two-year-long campaign ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ which began on March 12, 2021, to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence.
Union ministers Amit Shah, G Kishan Reddy and Meenakashi Lekhi were also present at the event.
