NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Rajasthan’s Nathdwara on Wednesday where he dedicated and laid the foundation stone of infrastructure projects worth over Rs 5,500 crores.
This visit marks the third visit of the Prime Minister to Rajasthan this year. Governor Kalraj Mishra and chief minister Ashok Gehlot received him at the airport.
During his current visit, PM Modi dedicated and laid the foundation stone of infrastructure projects worth over Rs 5,500 crore in Nathdwara. The focus of these projects will be on bolstering infrastructure and connectivity in the region. The projects of the road and railway sector will also facilitate the movement of goods and services, thereby boosting trade and commerce and improving the socio-economic conditions of the people in the region.
PM Modi visits Shrinathji temple in Rajasthan
The Prime Minister visited Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara and offered prayers. People were seen showering flower petals on PM Modi’s car.
Eighteen Brahmin students and some priests recited vedic mantras as the prime minister paid obeisance. Modi later handed over ‘prasad’ to the Brahmins as ‘dakshina’ at the Lalan Chowk in the temple.
Temple officials also felicitated the prime minster and handed over a turban and prasad to him.
Opposition should be respected, I think PM Modi will also move in this direction: Ashok Gehlot
Rajasthan CM and Congress leader Ashok Gehlot said the opposition should be respected in democracy and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi “will also move in this direction”.
“If this is done, the ruling dispensation and the opposition will be able to serve the country with more vigour,” he said at a function to launch various projects in the presence of Modi.
“The opposition should be respected. I think that you (PM) will also move in this direction,” Gehlot said.
The Rajasthan chief minister also said that former prime ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi laid down their lives for the nation.
“If we all work together, the country will remain united,” he said.
Other projects
Later in the day, PM Modi will also visit the Shantivan complex of Brahma Kumaris on Abu Road at around 3:15 pm.
Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for road construction projects for upgradation to two-lane in Rajsamand and Udaipur.
Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for redevelopment of Udaipur railway station, to provide enhanced amenities for the public. He will also lay the foundation stone for the gauge conversion project and for setting up of a new line from Nathdwara to Nathdwara town in Rajsamand.
Further, Prime Minister will dedicate three national highway projects to the nation, including 114 km long six-lane Udaipur to Shamlaji section of NH-48; 110 km long widening and strengthening to 4 lane with paved shoulder of Bar-Bilara-Jodhpur Section of NH-25; and 47 km long two lanes with paved shoulder section of NH 58E.
