ISLAMABAD: At least four members of a family were axed to death in Sheikhupura, Pakistan, on Sunday, as reported by ARY News.
According to the details, the incident occurred in the Saddar Police Station area of Sheikhupura, where four members were allegedly murdered and one suffered injuries.
The victims, who were allegedly killed with a sharp tool, included 80-year-old Shah Muhammad, his 62-year-old wife Ushra, his 18-year-old daughter Kiran, and his 8-year-old grandson.
Following the incident, the police officials arrived at the spot immediately as soon as they got the information, according to ARY News.
Moreover, further investigation is going on.
In a similar incident earlier, at least five people were killed in an armed men’s attack on a village in Ghotki.
According to the police officials, the unidentified armed men attacked Jam Bajar village, leaving at least five people dead and two injured in the shooting incident, ARY News reported.
The deadly incident is the result of an ongoing feud between two clans, the police stated.
“The accused had attacked a Bethak (meeting place) in the village,” police added.
Reportedly, lawlessness prevails in Ghotki and other districts of upper Sindh owing to their geographic proximity to the Katcha area (riverine forests), infamous for the criminal activities of bandit gangs patronised by tribal chieftains and influentials, ARY News reported.
The riverine forests in Sindh and the southern belt of Punjab have historically remained a hotbed of bandit gangs involved in kidnappings for ransom as well as other crimes.
