NCB and Navy seize 2,500 kg drugs worth Rs 15,000 crore | India News

NEW DELHI: In one of the major hauls, the NCB and the Indian Navy seized around 2,500 kg of methamphetamine from Kochi waters on Saturday.
The worth of drugs seized comes to around Rs 15000 crore. This is the largest seizure by any Indian enforcement agencies in terms of monetary value.
A Pakistani national was arrested for suspected links with the case. The mother ship carrying the vessel could not be seized as it sank off.
The siezure was from Indian ecominc waters, NCB officials said at a press conference in Kochi on Saturday. The consignment from Pakistan was meant for sales in India, Sri Lanka and Maldives, officials said. The seizure was part of an operation called ‘Samudragupt’. The officials said the operation is still under way.
