The track showcases Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s date night They are seen taking a stroll together and exploring various locations as the song unfolds.

The song is about the connection between the two main characters. Arijit Singh provides his vocals for the track which also evokes a sense of intrigue. Raat Akeli Thi is created by Pritam and written by Varun Grover.

Merry Christmas marks Sriram Raghavan’s return to directing after his successful 2018 thriller Andhadhun. Starring Katrina Kaif, Vijay Sethupathi, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Radhika Apte, the film was shot in both Hindi and Tamil, featuring different supporting casts for each version. Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kazmi, and Tinnu Anand star in the Hindi version, while Radhika Sarathkumar, Gayathrie, and Shanmugaran feature in the Tamil version.

Originally scheduled for a December release, the film is now set to premiere on January 12, 2024.
