Ameesha Patel reveals Rani Mukerji only had a cameo in ‘Mangal Pandey’ when Aamir Khan narrated it to her | Hindi Movie News

Ameesha Patel, who is currently awaiting the release of her upcoming film, ‘Gadar 2‘, recently spoke about Rani Mukerji‘s role in Aamir Khan starrer ‘Mangal Pandey‘.
In an interview with a news portal, Ameesha revealed that in ‘Mangal Pandey’, Rani was not the heroine of the film. When Aamir narrated her the subject she was opposite the British actor Toby Stephens, and it was only one love angle.And Aamir had a love angle with a British actress, who gets jealous in the middle, that’s why the film was a little roughly edited. According to her, Rani was only supposed to be there as a guest appearance for one song.

Elaborating further, the actress added that from just one item song, Rani ended up having a Holi song with her but she never felt that she had a bigger role than her. Ameesha also recalled bonding with Rani on the sets of the film. Contrary to what people were talking about them outside, the actress said that they had a blast shooting.

Rani Mukerji had a dance number ‘Vari Vaari’ and a romantic song ‘Holi Re’ with Aamir in ‘Mangal Pandey: The Rising’.
