Matthew Morrison, known for his role in the TV series Glee, decided to leave the show because he was no longer interested in continuing. However, something tragic happened afterward.

During an interview with the And That’s What You REALLY Missed podcast, Morrison disclosed that he was extremely dissatisfied with his experience on the Glee set. He revealed that he had planned to leave the show due to unhappiness. Morrison stated, “In Season 5, I asked to be off the show, just because I’m no longer being used in the way I wanted to.”

Matthew Morrison, who played the character of teacher Will Schuester in the series Glee, wanted to take on new projects and work on a movie. He discussed his idea with the show’s producers, who agreed to let him off the series. However, his co-star Cory Monteith passed away at an early age of 31 in 2013, leading to a change of plans. Morrison revealed that the show’s producers could not let him go as they couldn’t afford to lose two main actors.

Although Morrison understood the situation, he had mixed emotions as he had to reconcile his own desires with the grief of losing a friend. Despite this, he continued to show up and do his job as a professional actor. He also mentioned that he received a reasonable pay increase, which was a positive outcome.

Initially, Morrison felt upset when his storyline was de-emphasized, and he took it personally, thinking that he was doing a lousy job. However, he later realized that the show became successful because of the kids, and the audience wanted to see them more than him. Therefore, he understood that his decreased screen time was due to the show’s demographic rather than his acting.
