SRINAGAR: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday raided the premises of hybrid terrorists and overground workers linked with the newly formed offshoots and affiliates of banned terror outfits, in Anantnag, Shopian and Pulwama districts of south Kashmir.
Several digital devices containing incriminating data were seized during the raids, carried out at five locations in connection with a terror conspiracy case registered on June 21 last year, a statement by the probe agency said.
The premises of sympathisers and cadres of these organisations were also searched. “All these cadres and workers are being investigated for activities relating to terror, violence and subversion in J&K. NIA suspects their involvement in the collection and distribution of sticky bombs/magnetic bombs, IEDs, funds, narcotic substances and arms/ammunitions,” the statement said.
The newly floated terror outfits under investigation include The Resistance Front, United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir, Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind, Jammu & Kashmir Freedom Fighters, Kashmir Tigers, PAAF and others.
These groups are affiliated with banned terrorist organisations operating from Pakistan such as Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al-Badr and al-Qaida, among others.
