Infiltration bid foiled, terrorist killed along Line of Control in J&K’s Kupwara | India News

SRINAGAR: Security forces thwarted an infiltration attempt and shot dead a terrorist along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jumagund area of Keran sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, police said Monday. The intrusion bid came four days after five terrorists were gunned down during a similar attempt along the LoC in the district’s Machil sector.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kashmir Zone Police wrote that the latest anti-infiltration operation was launched by a joint team of the Army and Kupwara Police on Sunday.“Search operation continues,” it added.
On October 26, five Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were shot dead in a joint anti-infiltration operation by the Army and J&K Police in Machil sector. A month before that, two terrorists were slain during a similar attempt along the LoC in Kupwara district on September 30. In the early hours of September 16, three terrorists were killed during an intrusion bid along the LoC in Baramulla district after alert troops stationed in Uri sector noticed suspicious movement at Hathlanga Nala.
