Congress releases BJP ‘chargesheet’, to take it ‘to every household’ | India News

NEW DELHI: Congress on Saturday released a “chargesheet” against the Narendra Modi government, which its cadres will take to every household in the country along with a letter from Rahul Gandhi. The one-page chargesheet refers to BJP as the ‘Bhrasht Jumla Party’ and says the saffron party’s mantra has always been “kuch ka saath, khud ka vikas, sabke saath vishwasghaat (benefit of a few, development of self, and betrayal of all)’.
From loan waivers to a select few, 10% wealthy owning 64% of India’s wealth, and ports and airports being “gifted” to the PM’s “close friends”, the chargesheet also accuses BJP of spending crores on propaganda and indulging in nepotism, apart from touching on the issues of rising unemployment, food security, women’s security, the plight of farmers and hate speeches.
Congress organisational general secretary KC Venugopal said apart from this, the party’s state units will prepare “chargesheets” against state governments.
Venugopal and communications chief Jairam Ramesh also said the party’s ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyan’, which begins on January 26 and serves as a follow up of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, will inform the citizens of the damage BJP has done to the country.
