Stamos and McHugh welcomed their son, Billy, on April 10, 2018. For his first birthday, the “Full House” actor shared an Instagram snap of himself and Billy both dressed as Elvis with the caption, “One year ago tonight, our little King was born.” For Billy’s fifth birthday, Stamos penned a sweet message on Instagram alongside a throwback photo of Billy from when he was a baby.
“There is a conceit in corny romcoms where the protagonist says, ‘You complete me.’ As a Disney guy, I’m down with a certain level of sentimentalism and sappiness, but I never really understood the idea of being ‘completed.’ I get it now,” Stamos wrote. “I still have a lot to do, but if my whole life was one sentence, then Billy would be the exclamation mark at the end of it. #happy5birthday🎂.”
Stamos reflected on life with Billy in an April 2021 interview with People, telling the outlet, “He’s the most charming kid!” Of how he handles fatherhood, the actor added, “It’s better than I imagined. I wanted kids my whole life. And I’m just so grateful.”
