Congratulations on the win! What was your reaction when you found out you were cast on the show?
I felt honored and excited by the adventure I knew I had ahead. The fact that Drag Race arrived in Belgium was totally unexpected for me. It was a teenage dream coming true.

What was the biggest challenge for you?
The makeover challenge was one of my favorite challenges, but also the hardest. The theme was about family resemblance. I had to come closer and open myself up to a 40-something white straight cisgender man. Knowing that this is something I’ve been avoiding since forever, it was a tough one to do.

What was your favorite thing about the season?
I liked all the moments off camera, just before the start of each shooting day. I was happy to get on set, see my sisters and all of the production crew. There were some genuine bonding moments.

Did you discover anything surprising about yourself while on the show?
I discovered that long hair wigs suit me well and that I can be feminine by being myself.

If you could go back and do anything over, would you?
I would work on my Snatch Game character more. Because I’m a trained actor, I thought it would be easy for me to impersonate the character I chose, but it wasn’t that easy nor that good.

How did you get your start in drag?
I graduated from IAD and during my university years I wrote my thesis on “The Art of Drag”. While writing my thesis, Drag Couenne came to life.

How would you describe your style?
I’m a weird, conceptual yet accessible drag queen.

What’s your number one beauty tip?
To be ugly.

If there were to be a Belgium vs The World season, would you want to take part?
I’d love to. I’m ready to compete in any franchise whenever you want.

Are there any global queens you’d love to work with?

Of course. I’d love to work with Bimini, Raja, Sasha Velour, Yvie Oddly and, of course, Sasha Colby.

What’s next for you?
My time is shared in between performances as Drag Couenne and Adrien De Biasi. I have a lot coming for Drag Couenne in Belgium and France. And I might come to the US soon.

Drag Couenne Answers the Socialite Seven

When did you know that you wanted to become a performer?
For forever I was saying that I wanted to become a magician or a barmaid to be able to work during the night and be able to perform.

Who has had the biggest influence on your career and why?
The moon has a big influence on me – the moon represents a nocturnal, feminine and melancholic energy.

What is your favorite song to perform?
I love to perform anything by Lapsuceur, a French rapper.

Who would you want to play you in the movie of your life?
I’d want to play myself in a movie of my life.

What superpower or talent would you like to wake up with tomorrow?
Being able to control the time. I have so many projects I’d love to work or invest myself in, but I do not have enough time to do so. I’d love to be able to control the clock and grant myself more time to do more.

What are three things you can’t live without?
My phone, my loved ones and the stage!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
Don’t be scared to open doors, because you can always go back and close the door. Closing doors can also make you discover other doors.
