UTTARKASHI: As news of the accident on Gangotri highway came in, Uttarakhand Police personnel along with SDRF teams reached the site and started rescue operations with the help of local villagers. It took over two hours for search teams to rescue the injured from the mangled remains of the tourist bus and shift them to the district hospital, reports Abhyudaya Kotnala.

Seven persons, who are critical, have been shifted to AIIMS-Rishikesh.” Uttarkashi DM Abhishek Ruhela said he has ordered a magisterial probe in the matter and SDM of Bhatwari has been directed to submit the report within a week.
“I have given instructions to keep choppers ready for any emergency. If required, the injured persons will be airlifted and taken to a specialised medical centre for better treatment,” Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said.
