Focus on service: HDFC bank CEO

MUMBAI: HDFC Bank MD & CEO Sashidhar Jagdishan, in his first communication to shareholders after the HDFC-HDFC Bank merger, said the bank would do more to improve customer service and build an inclusive organisational culture to addressstaff attrition.
“We are making progress on our customer service, but I believe that this journey has to be accelerated every year. More remains to be done and I am fully committed to improving our customer centricity further,” said Jagdishan. He added that a ‘service first’ culture is not possible without an organisationalculture that acts as the foundation for the same. The CEO also addressed instances where some people managers might transgress the defined way of working, highlighting the bank’s resolve to address such issues through training, counseling, and appropriate action. “We are taking concrete steps towards building an inclusive organisation,” he added.
