RANCHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent a letter to Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren asking him to indicate his choice of place and time for recording his statement in a Ranchi land scam case.
The probe agency has specified that the letter “may be treated as summons”, the seventh in the case, and asked the CM to get back within two days. Soren had skipped the six previous summonses.
ED sources said there was no response from the CM till Saturday, adding this would be the last summons to him. The case pertains to alleged forgery in land deals. While skipping previous summonses, Soren had written to ED alleging a ploy to malign him as he was not aligning “with a particular political alliance”.
