NEW DELHI: There was bloodshed many times in the establishment of religion, which is a lesson for us from history so that in future “dharma ka sthapana” can happen without violence, said general secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Dattatreya Hosabale, on Saturday at the Ambedkar International Center in Delhi. Building around the grand opening of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya in January 2024, a large number of events and contents are being created to celebrate this landmark occasion in the history of India.
One of them is the release of the book “Ram Phir Laute” by noted scholar Hemant Sharma. Releasing the book that depicts the different contours of the life journey of the Ram Temple in Ayodha, Hosabale also said that Ram Janmabhoomi is not a one of incident, but a movement that happened 72 times. The launch of the book was attended by many senior BJP leaders, members of Parliament and ministers from the Uttar Pradesh government.
Taking on the critics of Ram Ram Janmabhoomi movement, Hosabale said: “Some people who suppressed the facts of history are trying to build a narrative. But one simple fact should silence them, which is that Ram Janmabhoomi has not happened once, but 72 times. The society of Bharat has never forgotten its respect and right over Ram Janmabhoomi. Every generation has struggled for this.”
Ahead of the pran pratishtha inauguration of the Ram temple being built in Ayodhya, the book throws light on the character of Lord Ram, the movement related to Ram Temple as well as the cultural value of Ayodhya. Though the author claimed that the book was an assessment of Lord Ram, it attempted to make people understand the importance of Ram, Ramtva, and the greatness of the lord’s Purushottam form. The book also discusses the cultural and social values of India that will come into being after the construction of the Ram Temple.
The RSS leader said, “Everyone wants that there should be no bloodshed. In the battlefield of Kurukshetra Yogeshwar Krishna tried till the last that there should be no bloodshed. But when those on the side of unrighteousness didn’t agree, blood did shed, out of compulsion. For public welfare we must tolerate this. Ram and Bhagwan Krishna don’t want bloodshed, the life values of Bharat says ‘non-violence is supreme religion’. But for the establishment of religion many times violence did happen, which is a lesson for us from history so that in future religion can be established without bloodshed.”
Hosabale further says, “Many times it looks like the movement was destined. There was a national awakening due to this movement. Probably these are the rules of destiny.”
Urging the people to not just watch the opening of the temple on TV at home on January 22, 204, Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s International Executive President Alok Kumar asked each one to consider the temple built in the locality as Ayodhya for a day.
“There are some occasions, some scenes are such that even the Gods wait to see them. 500 years of wait, 20 to 25 generations of struggle, 74 wars, after all for this temple. On January 22, in the presence of thousands of saints and distinguished people of the country, Ramlala and his big idol will be consecrated in the sanctum sanctorum built at his birthplace,” said Kumar, adding that a similar or the same book is also needed in English to counter the divisive narrative of the pseudo seculars.
Swami Gyananandji Maharaj was also present on the occasion along with former Supreme Court Justice Hemant Gupta as a special guest.
Maharaj said: “Ram is our self-respect, our body, our mind, and our identity.
