BJP’s Rai meets Chirag amid NDA alliance buzz | India News

PATNA: With speculation rife about LJP (RV) chief Chirag Paswan joining the BJP-led NDA ahead of its meeting in Delhi on July 18, junior Union home minister Nityanand Rai called on him at his Patna residence on Sunday. Chirag also held a meeting of his party office-bearers, who authorised him to take decision about joining any alliance. Highly placed sources said Chirag was most likely to be a part of NDA “very soon”.
Later, Chirag left for Delhi. He said a decision on joining any alliance would be taken very soon as talks were “already underway”.
“We had a pleasant conversation. We share a long-standing relationship and will always maintain that,” a beaming Rai told the media, adding that late Ram Vilas Paswanji (Chirag’s father) always made Bihar and the country happy through his good works. Both the politicians remained closeted for around 45 minutes and discussed a wide range of issues, a senior LJP (RV) leader said. “Talks over joining the alliance are going on but it won’t be fair to reveal the details until it is finalised,” Chirag told the media.
