Salman Khan celebrates his 58th birthday today and is surrounded by his loved ones, as the viral pictures on social media give ample proof. The superstar has an extensive fan following and having his body of work spread across decades in the industry, the variety has been immense. While his most memorable roles are often talked about from Maine Pyar Kiya to Karan Arjun to in recent times blockbusters like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and the Tiger franchise to name a few, one often forgets some of his most talked-about cameos that left a lasting impression.

Most times, he has stolen the limelight in such short but impactful roles, be it the perfect life partner as Aman Mehra in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or the dutiful son Ravi Chopra in Baghban. His iconic entry as himself in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani starring Ranbir Kapoor and his ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif was the talk of the town upon its release.

It was just a 5-minute role, however, people do remember him being a small part of the film with his cameo.

Though his heart was broken in the end, he went on to win a Filmfare Award for his supporting act and to date is remembered every time the film is spoken about or quite recently when it celebrated its 25th Anniversary. The other star cast members included Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji and the film was helmed by Karan Johar.

Helmed by Raj Kanwar, the film featured Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead. The film was released in just a year’s gap after Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam where Salman was seen alongside Aishwarya. Salman essayed the role of a truck driver in his cameo role in the film.

Baghban became a guide on the complex relationship between parents and their children. A multi-starrer with Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini in the lead and helmed by Ravi Chopra. Salman Khan played the role of Alok who was Raj (Amitabh Bachchan) and Pooja Malhotra’s (Hema Malini) adopted son. Salman was the perfect son who was filled with gratitude towards those who had adopted him and provided him with food, shelter and education and loved him like their own. Mahima Chaudhry too had a cameo in it and played Salman’s love interest.

Salman Khan played the role of Imaan, Sakina’s (Sonam Kapoor) love interest. The story unravels as how he comes to rent a room in Sakina’s house who lives with her grandmother and she eventually falls in love with him. Fans were pleasantly surprised to see him in his cameo and it sure made an impact for the newcomers.

Katrina too acted as a die-hard fan of his and Ranbir Kapoor’s character introduced the two, pretending to be a friend of Salman’s to impress Jenny (Katrina Kaif) whom he was in love with.

The end credits had both the Khans talk about how they are the last of the stars and requesting Pathaan a.k.a Shah Rukh Khan to join him on his next mission. Interestingly, as soon as Tiger 3 was released on Diwali we saw a cameo of Shah Rukh join him in his world in the third instalment of the film.
