Air Marshal Singh, ace flying instructor, IAF’s new vice chief | India News

New Delhi : Air Marshal A P Singhon Wednesday took over as the new vice chief of the Indian Air Force, succeeding Air Marshal Sandeep Singh.
Singh was earlier the chief of the Central Air Co mmand in Allahabad. Commissioned into the IAF’s fighter stream in December 1984, he is a qualified flying instructor and an experimental test pilot, with over 5,000 hours of flying experience on a variety of fighters, aircraft and helicopters. During his career, the officer has commanded an operational fighter squadron and a frontline air base as well as held important staff appointments. As a test pilot, he led the MiG-29 Upgrade Project Management Team at Moscow, Russia.
He was also the project director (flight test) of the Tejas light com bat aircraft at the National Flight Test Centre.
