South Tuipui Assembly Election Result 2023: The counting of votes in South Tuipui commenced at 8 am, and initial trends are expected shortly. The Indian National Congress (INC) has nominated C Laldintluanga for the South Tuipui (ST) constituency, while MNF has named Dr R Lalthanglianaas its candidate. Jeje Lalpekhlua is contesting from Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM).
In the previous Mizoram Assembly election, the Mizo National Front (MNF) emerged victorious in the South Tuipui seat. In the 2018 election, South Tuipui witnessed a voter turnout of 83.79%, with Dr R Lalthangliana of MNF winning the seat with 6126 votes. John Siamkunga of INC secured the second position with 4657 votes.

This year, the voter turnout in South Tuipui stands at 20%, reflecting active participation in the electoral process. Following the polling day, votes are recorded in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), stored securely until the counting day. Looking back at the last election cycle, MNF secured 27 out of Mizoram’s total 40 seats, with Congress (CONG) winning 4 seats. The question arises whether the current polls will yield similar results or bring about a change in Mizoram’s political landscape.

The latest updates from South Tuipui indicate that ZPM candidate Jeje Lalpekhlua is leading with 2283 votes, while INC candidate C Laldintluanga is in the second position. MNF candidate Dr R Lalthangliana is currently in the third position with 2110 votes.

South Tuipui is one of the 40 Legislative Assembly constituencies in Mizoram, India. Situated in the Lunglei district, this constituency is reserved for candidates from Scheduled Tribes. As the upcoming Mizoram election approaches, South Tuipui in the Lunglei district continues to be a key assembly constituency. In the 2018 election, Dr R Lalthangliana secured victory for the Mizo National Front, defeating John Siamkunga of the Indian National Congress with a margin of 1469 votes.
