Dhulandi, also known as Dhuli, Dhulendi, is another name for Holi in some places of India, such as Rajasthan, Haryana and nearby areas. It is a vibrant festival celebrated in India, marking the culmination of the two-day Holi festivities.
Some Facts About Dhulandi
·Dhulandi is the second day of the Holi festival, following Holika Dahan (Chhoti Holi). It is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Rajasthan and other parts of northern India.
·The term “Dhulandi” is commonly used in the Braj regions of Vrindavan and Mathura.

Legend Behind Dhulandi
The festival is also associated with the divine love between Lord Krishna and Radha. Lord Krishna, complained to his mother about Radha being fair-skinned while he was dark. In response, his mother suggested that he playfully colour Radha’s face with colours of his choice. Thus, the tradition of applying colours during Holi is believed to originate from this playful act of Lord Krishna.
It is celebrated as the victory of good over evil, as Lord Vishnu reincarnated in the form of Narasimha to kill the demon Hiranyakashipu, who was blessed with the power of being immortal, which turned him into egoistic and violent on inferior beings. When he tried to kill his own son Prahlada (devotee of Lord Vishnu), Narasimha avatar killed him, marking the end of negativity and evil spirit and restoring faith in goodness.
