Vikrant Massey thought he would be fired from the sets of Lootera, here’s why

Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s latest film, 12th Fail, starring Vikrant Massey in the lead role, made its way to the big screen on October 27, 2023. Vikrant, who made his acting debut in 2014 with director Vikramaditya Motwane’s Lootera, reminisced about an unexpected incident from his early days in the film industry. On the first day of Lootera’s filming, a nervous Vikrant accidentally struck the film’s lead, Ranveer Singh, with the nozzle of his prop gun. He recently recounted this incident during an interview while discussing his latest project.

Following Lootera, it almost took Vikrant Massey a decade to secure his first solo leading role in a film. In a recent interview, while promoting 12th Fail, Vikrant shared his recollections of a day on the Lootera set at Film City. They were filming a bedroom scene where he had to wake up Ranveer’s character with a prop gun. He was overwhelmed by nerves and the presence of director Vikramaditya Motwane on set.

Recounting the accident, Vikrant revealed that he tried to point his gun at Ranveer but ended up grazing his nose. ”I felt like I’m going to get kicked out on the very first day,” he said. He was worried that he had inadvertently injured a rising superstar and that this mishap might lead to weeks of recovery for Ranveer Singh. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case.

Vikrant Massey’s most recent film, 12th Fail, holds the distinction of being the first movie ever to be shot in Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar, a well-known area for Hindi medium UPSC aspirants. The film has been enjoying a successful theatrical run since its release on October 27, 2023.
