Mumbai/Nashik: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Sunday claimed victory for Maharashtra on governor BS Koshyari’s exit, while party president and former CM Uddhav Thackeray said those who had insulted Shivaji Maharaj had gone back “like a parcel from Amazon”. Taking a dig at the new governor, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said, “I don’t know whether Ramesh Bais has Bais or Bias in his name’.” He also expressed hope that Bais does not turn Raj Bhavan into a BJP office or work like a BJP agent like his predecessor.
Shiv Sena (UBT)’s partners in the MVA also reacted to Koshyari‘s exit. NCP chief Sharad Pawar said it came after prolonged delay and that decisions taken by Koshyari should be probed. State Congress president Nana Patole said the NDA government at the Centre has honoured the governor and disrespected Maharashtra by accepting his resignation and not sacking him.
Both descendants of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj – Rajya Sabha MP from Satara Udayanraje Bhosle and former Rajya Sabha MP from Kolhapur Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati – also welcomed Koshyari’s resignation and emphasized that they expect no more controversies regarding towering historic personalities from the state.
Koshyari resigned as he’s unwell, says Fadnavis:
Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said BS Koshyari was unwell, therefore he resigned as governor. “Koshyari had himself submitted his resignation in the past to the PM saying that due to his health he wouldn’t be able to continue for long,” said Fadnavis.
