Victoria Beckham recalls the ‘hardest period’ in her marriage with David Beckham: ‘… the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life’

Victoria Beckham recently discussed the most difficult phase in her marriage to David Beckham, which was marked by intense media scrutiny and rumors of his alleged infidelity. She spoke about it in the newly released documentary series titled, ‘Beckham’.
In the documentary, Victoria openly discussed her viewpoint regarding the difficulties they encountered. She disclosed, “It was the most challenging time for us as it seemed like the world was at odds with us.” She further confessed, “The truth is, if I’m entirely honest, we were at odds with each other.”

Their challenges began prior to their move to Madrid when they felt relentlessly hounded by the media.

Victoria expressed her frustration, saying, “It was a complete nightmare. As soon as we stepped out, the press was there, following us everywhere.” She characterized this period as an “utter circus” and admitted that she harbored resentment towards her husband for intensifying their already difficult circumstances. She confessed, “To be completely truthful, yes, I did. It was, to be honest, one of the unhappiest periods of my entire life.”

David Beckham also thought about the tough time they went through. He now owns a soccer club called Inter Miami in the United States. David said that the constant rumors and gossip about him possibly being unfaithful really affected him and their family a lot. He mentioned, “There were some really bad stories that were hard to handle.” It was the first time their marriage had to deal with such heavy pressure, and he remembered, “I think both of us felt back then like we weren’t losing each other, but like we were struggling to stay afloat.”
David Beckham couldn’t really explain how they made it through that tough time, but he’s glad it’s in the past now. He admitted, “Honestly, I’m not sure how we made it through.” Their experience shows how strong their relationship is and how they can face even the toughest times together.
