V-B gets new plaque with Tagore name

[ad_1]

SANTINIKETAN: Two large steel and glass frames housing Unesco‘s World Heritage Site certification and acknowledging Rabindranath Tagore as the founder and guiding light of the Visva-Bharati campus replaced on Wednesday the plaques controversially installed last October without any mention of the Nobel laureate, reports S Boral.
The earlier plaques had sparked outrage that refused to die down despite the varsity insisting that these were temporary.”Established in rural Bengal in 1901 by the great Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, Santiniketan was a cradle of learning and education firmly rooted in India’s classical traditions…,” states the new signs.
