Adah Sharma starrer The Kerala Story may have earned over Rs 200 crore at the box office but it seems like director Sudipto Sen is facing a tough time cracking a favourable deal with OTT platforms.
Recently, there were reports that The Kerala Story will soon start streaming on OTT platform. But Sudipto has said that they haven’t got a suitable offer from any OTT platform for the film.
When he was asked about the film being ready for streaming, Sudipto said that’s fake news and they are still waiting for a good workable deal from any of the main OTT platforms.
However, the director said that they have not got any offer worth considering. He then went on to claim that the film industry has ganged up to punish them.

He further said that the box office success of The Kerala Story has irked many sections of the film industry. He and his team feels that a section of the entertainment industry has united to punish them for their success.
A source was quoted as saying by an entertainment portal that the topic of the film and its subject has irked a certain section of the audience. And this might be the reason why major OTT platforms are not ready to acquire the film to avoid getting into anything politically controversial.
The source further said that The Kerala Story comes across as a propaganda film while OTT platforms focus on more intelligent, thought provoking and entertaining subjects. In such a case, a film like The Kerala Story does not fit into the genres.
