‘The Kerala Story’ is writing a successful tale at the box office. Despite being banned and facing protests, the movie continues to attract audiences to theatres.
Maintaining a steady record at the box office, ‘The Kerala Story’ added Rs 11.50 crore to its total on Friday. At the end of eight days, the film’s total business stands at a whopping Rs 89 crore nett. The film is expected to beat the business of Salman Khan starrer ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ in nine days and surpass the numbers of ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ in 10-11 days. Mumbai has contributed massively to the film’s collection, earning around Rs 33 crore nett in eight days.
Directed by Sudipto Sen, the film was released in more than 200 screens in the United States and Canada on Friday. Thanking fans for the same, Adah Sharma tweeted, “Discrediting my sincerity, mocking my integrity, threats, Our teaser getting shadow banned, the movie getting banned in certain states, slander campaigns launched…BUT you, the audience made #TheKeralaStory the no1 female lead movie first week of all time !!wowww! Audience aap Jeet Gaye and now we go international #adahsharma.”
