The Chainsmokers put their own funny spin on a steamy photo that Hailey and Justin Bieber posed for while promoting their new single “Summertime Friends.”

The song premiered on Friday (September 8). In the leadup, Drew Taggart and Alex Pall shared a shirtless photo that they took. They then revealed the source material, which was an underwear campaign the Biebers posed for.

In the original photo, Hailey is wearing a set from Calvin Klein and straddling Justin‘s lap. The musician is resting his face against her chest while staring at the camera.

Drew replicated Justin in their spin, and Alex sat in his lap while wearing a pair of jeans. You can see the Calvin Klein label just above the waistband of his pants. At least they were a stickler for the details!

“This was supposed to be the cover art but it came out ridiculous,” the hitmakers joked alongside the photo on Instagram. “We are so upset. firing creative director immediately. never trusting our team again.”

They also shared a behind the scenes video of them getting the shot. In the comments section, Alex revealed that they sent the photos to Hailey who “approved” of them.

In another post, Drew revealed that the song was inspired by his relationship with Marianne Fonseca.

“I fell in love with this girl named Mari last spring which you probably know by now if you if you’ve been following this page for the last 6 months. A few weeks after we started hanging out i was in NYC in the studio and wrote this song called ‘Summertime Friends’ about the night we met,” he explained.

We got our first photos of the duo holding hands on a date back in May. Prior to their romance, Drew was linked to Selena Gomez.
