LUCKNOW: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and gang-raped in a moving car in Kushinagar district earlier this month. Police arrested three men, all neighbours of the family, based on a named complaint by the survivor’s father on Monday.
Kushinagar SP Dhawal Jaiswal said the accused were booked under IPC section 376D (gang rape) and the POCSO Act, 2012.
The alleged crime took place on September 9 when one of the accused called the girl to clean a cow shelter around 1.30pm. “When I reached there, he took me to a shanty at knifepoint and forced himself upon me,” the girl alleged. “Later, his two aides reached the spot and abducted me in a car. One by one, they took several turns (to rape me), before dumping me outside the house in an unconscious state,” said the survivor in her FIR. “Somehow, I gained consciousness and reached home to narrate the ordeal and later my parents took me to a nearby hospital.” she added. The girl said initially, their complaint was not filed at Kaptanganj station and the FIR was lodged only after they met senior officers. The cops’ role will be probed too.
