BENGALURU: A 21-year-old final-year BBA student and photography enthusiast allegedly died by suicide after her parents refused to allow her to go and take pictures of New Year eve revelry across the city.
Varshini R was found hanging from the ceiling of her room past Sunday midnight, when her father Rajanna broke open the door. On Sunday, Varshini told her parents that she would go out to click pictures of the revelry.”We objected, saying the crowd behaviour could be risky. She was angry with us and locked herself up in the room at night. Post midnight, I woke up and called her, thinking she must be hungry, but there was no response. I broke open the door, only to find her hanging from the ceiling,” Rajanna told police.
