[ad_1]

NEW DELHI: A new regional airline will soon take wings, with Jettwings Airways on Wednesday saying it has received the no-objection certificate (NOC) to operate scheduled services. The startup will be based in Guwahati and plans to offer regional connectivity under UDAN in the northeast and eastern parts of India. A few weeks back, another regional carrier — Fly91 — had also got NOC from the aviation ministry.
Jettwings Airways chairman Sanjive Narain said, “We believe that under UDAN, we have a unique opportunity to make significant impact on the northeast region by improving connectivity and creating new economic opportunities.”
Jettwings co-founder & CEO Sanjay Aditya Singh said: “We are thankful to Ministry of Civil Aviation for providing us the Initial NOC and we will be working closely with DGCA to complete our readiness and formalities for schedule commuter airlines operations. Once we are granted (all permissions), we (aim) to becoming a reliable airline with its roots in northeast India.”
