Shah Rukh Khan’s fans have voiced their disappointment with Ranveer Singh taking over as the next Don. Yet, some online users have highlighted that when Shah Rukh replaced Amitabh Bachchan in the past, there were doubts about his ability to capture the role’s essence. Responding with his signature wit, Shah Rukh promptly said, “I would make Don with Chandra Barot and quell all the controversies that happen now.”

Chandra Barot created the iconic 1978 film Don, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Zeenat Aman in the lead roles. The movie underwent a revival when Farhan Akhtar reimagined it, casting Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra as the new Don and Roma.

In the latest film of the series, Farhan Akhtar has cast Ranveer Singh for the iconic role. This has upset many Shah Rukh Khan fans who believe Don can’t exist without SRK. Ranveer then addressed his “great responsibility” in an Instagram post.

It has also been reported the role of Roma will now be played by Kriti Sanon instead of Kiara Advani.
