Earlier this month, when Ryan was asked if he had been approached by the Academy for the performance at the ceremony, the actor said that he was ‘open’ to the opportunit, and also stated that he have not been asked yet, “It might be too much of a risk to have me do it. It is worth mentioning that Gosling had earlier expressed his disappointment for his colleagues not making it to the nomination list. In a statement, he said, “I am extremely honored to be nominated by my colleagues alongside such remarkable artists in a year of so many great films. And I never thought I’d being saying this, but I’m also incredibly honored and proud that it’s for portraying a plastic doll named Ken. But there is no Ken without Barbie, and there is no Barbie movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the two people most responsible for this history-making, globally-celebrated film.”
