Rural Road Infrastructure: First tranche of 37crore released for border roads

NEW DELHI: As part of its plans to strengthen the rural road infrastructure in Ladakh’s borders that it shares with China and Pakistan, the rural development ministry has approved the release of Rs 36.6 crore for the Union territory under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) for financial year 2023-24.
The government has a target to construct a 500km rural road network in Ladakh under the third phase of PMGSY. The corpus of Rs 36.6 crore will be used for the construction of roads and bridges, district roads, and PMGSY roads in Ladakh‘s border areas.
