Chennai-based actor and filmmaker RJ Balaji recently joined the bandwagon of people criticising Sandeep Reddy Vanga‘s directorial, ‘Animal’, which starred Ranbir Kapoor in the lead.
In an interview with Indiaglitz, Balaji shared that he chose not to watch Animal in theaters. He highlighted his observation that audiences were enclosed in a cinema, witnessing instances of violence against women and the enjoyment derived from such scenes.This aspect left him disheartened as he reflected on the audience’s response to the film.

The filmmaker, who doubles as a radio jockey, criticized the film, expressing concern that, in his view, it has the potential to influence youngsters negatively and contribute to the mistreatment of women.

The filmmaker expressed his reservations, stating that he deliberately chose not to normalize reactions to certain scenes. He was particularly concerned about a reported instance where an actor (Triptii Dimri) was instructed to lick a shoe, fearing that such scenes could convey inappropriate behavior towards women to the younger audience.
