Ram Rahim gets another furlough, this time for 21 days | India News

ROHTAK: The Haryana government has granted 21 days’ furlough to Dera Sacha Sauda (DSS) chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, who is a convict in rape and murder cases and is imprisoned in Rohtak’s Sunaria jail. He is likely to be released from Sunaria jail after sunrise on Tuesday.
The Sirsa dera chief has already been granted parole twice this year — for 40 days in January and 30 days in July.In 2022,Ram Rahim was released on four weeks’ furlough and nine weeks of parole.
According to the directive from Rohtak divisional commissioner Sanjeev Verma, during his temporary release the Sirsa dera chief will be stationed only at the Shah Satnam Ji Ashram Dera Sacha Sauda at Barnava, in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district, and will not be permitted to visit any other location.
The dera chief is currently undergoing a sentence of 10 years each in two rape cases and life imprisonment in two separate cases of murder — the killing of journalist Ram Chhatarpati and of former dera manager Ranjit Singh. He is also facing a CBI case related to castration of his disciples.
