Ram Mandir inauguration: List of states which have declared holidays | India News

NEW DELHI: With the clock ticking closer to the mega Ram Mandir inauguration event, various state governments have declared half-day, and some full-day holidays to ensure devotees can be part of the historic function.
The governments have announced that schools and colleges will remain closed on the inauguration day, while central government offices, central institutions and central industrial establishments will be operational half-day.

List of states with holidays

Uttar Pradesh

: Uttar Pradesh is preparing for a mega celebration on January 22. The state government has declared a holiday for all government offices and educational institutions.

Uttarakhand:

The Uttarakhand government has announced that all government offices and educational institutions in the state will be shut till 2:30 pm on January 22.
Delhi: Delhi government offices will remain closed for half a day on January 22 on the occasion of the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.

Tripura:

All the state government offices in Tripura and educational institutions will remain shut till 2:30 PM on 22 January.

Odisha:

The Odisha government has declared that all the state government offices will remain closed for half a day until 2:30 pm.

Gujarat:

Gujarat state government office will also be non-operational for a half-day.

Madhya Pradesh:

Chief minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh announced January 22 a public holiday for all government offices.

Assam:

State government offices and educational institutions will be closed until 2:30 PM on January 22.

Goa:

Chief minister Pramod Sawant ordered that government buildings and schools will remain closed. The government has declared January 22 a public holiday.

Madhya Pradesh:

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav has declared January 22 to be a public holiday for every government office and educational institution.

Haryana:

Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar-led Haryana government has declared a holiday on January 22.

Chhattisgarh:

The Chhattisgarh government has declared it a holiday for all state government schools and colleges.

Maharashtra:

The Maharashtra government has announced a public holiday in the state on January 22 when the Pran Pratishtha ceremony will be held in Ayodhya.

Chandigarh:

Chandigarh Union Territory administration on Friday declared closure of all its offices on January 22.

Puducherry:

Puducherry Chief minister N Rangasamy on Friday announced that January 22 would be a public holiday in the Union territory.
Money markets will remain closed on January 22. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) modified its earlier circular wherein it had said that trading in money markets will open at 2:30 pm instead of 9 am on January 22.
The iconic Visva-Bharati University at Bolpur- Santiniketan in Birbhum district of West Bengal has declared a half-day holiday for the students, faculty and staff members on January 22. The Jamia Millia Islamia and its schools will also remain closed for half-day till 2:30 pm. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) will work in a full trading session on Saturday and will remain closed on Monday.
