R Madhavan received universal acclaim and deserves accolades for his performance in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, including a National Award recently. The film was his passion project and it is only befitting that he got the recognition he deserved.
Last evening, the Information & Broadcasting Minister announced R Madhavan as the new president of the Film and Television Institute in Pune. Ace filmmaker Shekhar Kapur was the one he replaced to succeed in the said position. The Minister officially announced it by putting up a social media post stating, “Heartiest congratulations to @ActorMadhavan ji on being nominated as President of @FTIIOfficial and Chairman of the governing council. I’m sure that your vast experience & strong ethics will enrich this institute, bring positive changes, & take it to a higher level. My best wishes to you.”
R Madhavan too responded by saying, “Thank you so very much for the honor and kind wishes @ianuragthakur Ji. I will do my very best to live up to all the expectations.” Yet another feather on his cap and indeed a special one.
